3D Perspective Subway Art

3D Perspective Subway Art was created at a subway station in Bayview. These cool pieces of art look very odd and skewed when looking at them form the side, but when viewed straight on they become almost 3d and pop out at your.. its a very cool effect. Generally these perspective optical illusions are created using light and shadows to cast the design then follow the lines! Also check out these 3D Rooms, they were created by the same method.

Giants Eating Human Optical Illusion

Do giants still roam the earth? When you were young i’m sure you have seen jack in the bean stock and remember the giants who threatened to eat jack and his friends? In theses perspective illusions the giants have returned. The first giant is about to eat that cute girl.. (possibly his girlfriend..   and the second the marine is about to eat some fellow troopers as they repel into his mouth.  Its amazing how much fun you can have with photos when you find just the right perspective. So i ask.. who have you eaten? Do you have any amazing shots of crazy perspectives and twisted illusions? If so be sure to submit them to be featured on the site!

3D Tree Stereoscopic Illusion

Stereoscopic optical illusions are created by using two images of the same object giving you an illusion of depth. Each image is taken at a slightly different angle. When the two images are combined either side by side or flipped back and forth you get a 3D perspective of a static object.  The same effect is also used with the red/blue 3d glasses where the red and blue image is slightly offsetted to give the same impression.  Each eye views a different angle and your brain merges the two to give the image depth. While hiking the other day i came a cross this old moss covered tree and decided to try making one of these illusions for my self. Below you will see both flavors of the Illusion. First click on the image below to open up the full size image, stare into the center of the image and go cross eyed, the two photos will merge into a 3D photo in the center showing the true illusion.  Alternatively if you want the lazy version… scroll down to see the animated GIF. 🙂

Click this image then stare into the middle and go cross eyed to see the 3d version in the center.

Headless Camel

Every once in a while you snap that perfect photograph. Below is an amazing shot of a headless camel sent in by Jose Luis.
Jose, a photographer shot this photo in Sanaa, Yemen. Being a photographer myself I can really appreciate the bizarre perspective illusion. If you like these perfect candid moments be sure to check out some of the many headless optical illusion. If Camels are your thing, check out this amazing national geographic camel shot.

Flaming Streets of chalk

Well i know 3D Chalk Drawings are one of my all time favorites when it comes to optical illusions. These new 3d flaming streets chalk art  is a new twist  on the 3d street waterfall.  It really would be a challenge to draw these perspective drawings, looking from it from any side angles would give you the impression of some warped skewed blurb of chalk. Im not sure who to give credit to for this masterpiece but its defiantly one of the more extreme creations. If anyone knows who created this masterpiece then let me know.. if not well then I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

3D Painted Illusion Rooms

3D Painted Illusion Rooms is a  new update to the 3D Painted Rooms collection. These amazing paintings are created using light to project the image onto the warped surface. This gives you a a guideline on where to paint to keep things into perspective.  Some of the more advanced ones like Marvels The Thing Theater Painting were probably done with an image projected using an old overheard projector. This new collection i believe was done by the same artist, Felice Varini. His work is becoming quite well known with an ever increasing gallery of optical illusion art. Another recent cool one is the 3d painted face.

Worlds smallest Artwork

Willard Wigan is created of the Worlds Smallest art works, his miniature creations are so small they fit inside the eye of a needle or on top of the head of a pin.  Most of the sculptures are created from a grain of sand which are slowly carved away and painted with a hair plucked off the back of a fly! Many of Willard’s artwoks sell for over 300,000 each! His collection was recently baught for over 30 Million! Im not quite sure if this classifies as an optical illusion, but its pretty amazing if you ask me.  The photos below were taken looking through a micorscope! Willard even has plans to make his work even smaller. Enjoy these magnificant creations of the worlds smallest art.

Leaning Tower of Wanaka

Leaning Tower of Wanaka is part of a display at Puzzling World in New Zealand.  Leaning tower optical illusions are usually just that, an optical illusion.. but in the case well the tower isnt actually all that vertical. Puzzeling world offers tuns of great illusions such as ames room,  puzzles, a giant maze and tuns of mind games. I cant say I have personally been there yet, but its defiantly on my list!
