In or Out
The In or Out Optical Illusion is a pretty cool picture, as you stare at this column look carefully at the top. Does it appear to be a hollow shaft going down the length of the column? Do you see a small pyramid above the column? It all in the lighting my friends. This awesome shot was taken by Prashanth Mahagaonkar. So what do you think In or out?
Ok, no one has said anything yet, so I’ll take this one. Common sense tells me that the architecture would be convex (out) so that water and other junk wouldn’t build up within the structure. It’s a good picture, though.
It’s definitely out. You can look at the shadow on the ground to see where the sun is. Only convex makes sense since the lit part is against the sun if it’s concave.
It is a pyramid on top of the post. You can tell by the shadow in the top corner of the post does not line up with “the supposed inside shadow”. Plus the top 2 sides “walls” are not even. They get thicker from the outer corners to the top corner. If you look closely you can see the back 2 sides of the pyramid (they are facing the sun/light source) and even a little of the line dividing the back two sides.

it could be in most posts with holes go in. it is possible. But it could be out
the first is obviously a pyramid if you look at the showdow then it makes sense
Well after looking at other comments i can see the pyramid. but when i first looked at it without reading anything it looked in to me. oh the joy and wonders of optical illusions 🙂
