Melbourne Australia Cafe Wall Illusion
The Cafe Wall Optical Illusion refers to the pattern on the walls of the building below. This building is located in Melbourne Australia. The cafe wall illusion is created by using black and white squares shifted in a zig zag pattern. The orange floor lines seems to either shrink or grow on either side; In fact orange lines are actually completely parallel. This illusion was first discovered by Gegroy and Heard who first noticed the illusion on a wall decorated in a cafe in England, hence the origin of the “Cafe Wall Illusion”. For more examples of similar illusions be sure to check out Straight or bent Illusion Section of Visual Fun House.
