Headhunter Shadow Art{no comment}

Shadow art can be a tricky but very creative ay to create something amazing out of rubbish. This Headhunter illusions was sent to me a few weeks ago and has been sitting on my desktop for a few weeks as i have finally had the time to post it. I’m not sure ho the author is but its incredibly similar to the shadow art by Tim Noble and Sue Webber.  You may also want to check out the shadow heads but some of my favorites are the zebra and camel shadows shot national geographic.

Wolf in the Cat’s Shadow{1 comment}

The Wolf in the Cat’s Shadow is a pretty cool shot. I have sat here for the last 20 minuets going back and forth at the cats position and its shadow trying to determine if this is a true shadow or if it was manipulated in phootoshop. IT could be close either way, the lines are fairly defined which points to photoshop. On the other hand this could just be one of those amazing shots! Either way its a pretty cool image. How do you think the wolf shadow was cast? By the little kitty or its crafty photographer?

Shadow Faces Optical Illusion{2 comments}

Shadow Faces Optical Illusion is more of a contemporary art kind of illusion.  From a distance you would just see funny little squares of paper up on the wall, but when a light is cast on to them they reveal some very distinct shadows of human faces.   Its amazing what you can create with a little ingenuity, I have no clue who the artists is of this cool optical illusion so be sure to post it if you know! Another similar more extreme version is the trash shadow optical illusion, it is very detailed shadows, be sure to check it out!

Convex Concave Rocks optical Illusion{1 comment}

Convex Concave Rocks optical Illusion is a snap shot taken Wild Horse Canyon in Utah.  Mandy pointed out that both of these images are identical just the bottom is flipped upside down.  The top picture appears to be a normal rocky hillside with concave holes in the facade, however the bottom picture appears to have strange convex budges coming out of the side of the mountain.  Its amazing how much the shading of the shadows can play tricks on our eyes.

Tire Sculpture Optical Illusions{2 comments}

Tire Sculpture Optical Illusions are a creative way to turn used tires into artwork! Most people discard their tires every few years, but this Russian artist has found a whole new use for the old rubbers. The first is of  a Giant Rubber Tire buda, the next two pictures are of a tire horse.  The horse almost looks like  a war horse that should be in lord of the rings. Who know old tires could be so beautiful, but then again thats why they call it art! so next time you are looking around at a pile of trash you are throwing out… think what you can create out of it! it could become world famous :)   so don’t forget to submit your artwork.

3D Concave Monkey Optical Illusion{no comment}

3D Concave Monkey Optical Illusion is a an illusion shot by mrettig.  This is a classic example of the Hollow Face Optical Illusion. Due to the back lit lighting this monkeys face appears to be 3D and popping out at you. In fact it is actually a convex shape, and the photo is taken looking into the back of the mask where your face would normally go. For a demonstration of exactly how this illusions works check out the Hollow Face Video Optical Illusion.
